About us

We are a Czech company founded in November 2017. Our establishment was inspired by the extensive experience of one of our colleagues, who previously worked in the production of fire doors. We leveraged this knowledge in the development of innovative passive fire protection elements, leading to the creation of our own type of fire-resistant closure, which enables natural ventilation in building structures.

This was followed by a long development process, during which we conducted a series of demanding fire resistance tests. The result is a certified product that fully complies with current legislation and meets all fire protection requirements for buildings.

Likuhas company

We specialize in manufacturing and selling our own passive fire protection elements: fire-rated ventilation grids.

The construction of our fire-rated ventilation grids is classified as a fire barrier and is suitable for installation in all civil, public, and industrial buildings. The fire resistance of all types of our fire-rated ventilation grids is tested according to the latest applicable testing standards at the state-authorised testing facility Pavus a.s. Czech Republic. Certificate for all the types of fire-rated ventilation grids has been issued by Technical and Test Institute for Construction, Prague, SOE.

Product description

The complete product consists of two main parts. The first part consists of a doublesided fire-rated ventilation grid of the LKS type, preventing the spread of fire. This grid is installed into the fire partition wall into a pre-prepared mounting opening. The second part of the product consists of two pieces of exposed covers for the mounting opening of the LKL type, intended to cover the mounting opening on both sides of the fire partition wall. The installation procedure of the LKS and LKL type products is governed by the manufacturer’s issued Installation Manual.

Fire protection grid of the LKS type ensure a continuous supply and exhaust of air in solid and light vertical building structures without the need for connection to subsequent ventilation ducts. In the event of a fire, expanding horizontal intumescent slats are activated. As these slats expand, the LKS grid is sealed, preventing the spread of flames and toxic gases.

The LKS grid is not classified as smoke-proof. The fire resistance for all types of fire protection ventilation grids are declared as E90/EI15-EI90/EW90.

Exposed LKL covers are offered in a standard light grey color. Upon request, LKL covers can be painted in any color from the RAL color spectrum. Each LKL cover has a label indicating its fire resistance rating and production number.

Material used

LKS and LKL products contain expandable intumescent tape, thermally insulating Vermiculite-based board with inorganic binders, galvanized steel, and perforated sheet metal. The materials are processed in accordance with local regulations. The products do not contain any hazardous or harmful materials.

WALL FIRE PROTECTION VENTILATION GRID LKS

  • Designed for installation in light prefabricated structures (drywall) and in brick or concrete partitions.
  • Made from materials with fire reaction class A1 according to EN 13501-1 + A1 and intumescent strips.
  • Depending on the type of grid, certified for installation in walls up to a height of 3 meters above the theoretical floor level.
  • Fire resistance class EI/EW 15, 30, 45, 60, and 90.

  • Fire resistance tested according to the EN 1364-5.

  • The surface finish of the LKS grid is black.
  • A certified part of the delivery of the LKS fire grid includes a painted double-sided metal cover grid LKL 60/45.

EXPOSED LKL COVERS

  • Effective free area 70%.

  • Intended for interior use.

  • Surface finish: light grey base coat.

  • Option for surface finish in a different shade from the RAL color scale.

  • The grids are suitable for technical rooms, storage areas, archives, garages, basements, ventilation systems, industrial, and public buildings.

For natural ventilation of fire-rated partition walls without adjacent ventilation ducts. In the event of a fire, it prevents the spread of flame to another fire section of the building.

Horizontal intumescent plates are an active component of the grille and they expand when exposed to heat and thus close the space inside the grille frame. Fire damages the grille and it has to be replaced with a new product in the wall.

It is installed in all types of civil, public and industrial buildings. It is designed to ensure permanent ventilation of fire dividing vertical internal walls. It is designed to be placed in light prefabricated structures (plasterboard), in brick and concrete walls

If multiple grilles are installed in the wall next to or above each other, it is necessary to keep a distance of at least 100 mm between them. Frame-to-frame installation is not permitted.

The spacing of at least 100 mm must be observed mainly due to the use of the double-sided LKL-type covers of the mounting hole. The LKL covers exceed the perimeter of the installed intumescent LKS grille by 40 mm.

The LKL-type covers are installed on both sides of the fire-rated partition wall. There are holes in the corners of the LKL cover and fasteners included for wall mounting. The LKL-type covers serve as a decorative cover for the installed LKS-type fire ventilation grilles. There is a label with marked fire resistance of the product on the covers.
